Sentence Structures - Negating a sentence ( Nein , Kein, Nichts) (3)

 

Unlike English, German uses three different kinds of Negations. They are



KEIN                        - No, None

                KEIN is used to negate Nount that either have a Indefinite Article or No Article

                Examples :   Das ist ein Hund                                   That is a Dog

                                    Nein, das ist kein Hund                       No, that is not a Dog 


                                  Es gibt Banane                                      There are Bananas

                                Nein, Es gibt keine Banane                    No, there are no Bananas

                                 




NICHTS:

              1.  We use NICHT to negate  VERB such as

                    Er trinkt nicht   - He does not drink


               2.   We use NICHT to negate Pronoun

                        Sie heist nicht Joe


               3.  To negate a Possessive Article

                         Das ist nicht mein Auto


                4.  To negate an Adjective

                         Der Kuli ist nicht toll

  

                  

NEIN

                    NEIN is used to negate a   sentence 

                   Examples:   Hast du ein Buch gekauft                        Did you buy a  book

                                      Nein,                                                         No

Sentence Structure - Main Clause and Subordinate Clause - (1)

  Every Language is defined structurally with some Rules.  German Language is not exception to that structure. In German Language there are lot of Rules and Exceptions to learn to get acquainted with Fluency and Command. We will start discussing some Basic Structures to learn and Write small sentences in German Language. This Article, will emphasis on Sentence Structures ---MAIN & SUBORDINATE CLAUSES MAIN CLAUSES: Main Clauses : Main Clauses are Complete , Meaningful sentences and are grammatically correct.
